Applying Technology for Social Change

Developing Technology for Good

The Situation

In Southeast Asia alone, there exists more than 60 million people that continue to lack access to basic healthcare (medicine and vaccines). Challenging terrain and the lack of road infrastructure hinders the transportation and delivery of healthcare to the local people, especially in times of emergency.

This inaccessibility means that otherwise treatable diseases can easily become fatal, resulting in a stark difference in healthcare outcomes in these areas when compared with their urban counterparts.

Our aero-medical solution allows medicines ordered from hospitals to be delivered within the hour to community healthcare workers who live in these villages, resulting in improved health outcomes in these communities (higher immunisation rates, higher survival rates for emergency incidents like postpartum haemorrhage and venomous bites)

Developing Cutting-edge Systems for Peace and Comfort

Our Mission
We build medical cargo drone infrastructure purposefully designed for solving critical logistics issues faced by rural communities, in a bid to bring peace and comfort to these people.

Yonah in Hebrew means ‘dove’, which is a symbol for love, peace and comfort. This is the underlying purpose for developing these systems – to serve these oft forgotten communities and bring them peace and comfort by doing so.

Upscaling Skill Set
of Local Communities

Social Impact
We are committed to recruiting locals and training them to be our drone operators and maintainers. Our drones are engineered with this goal in mind, and thus our specifications consider the state of local infrastructure and the existing skill set locals in these communities have. This will ultimately translate into added economic and social benefits for the communities involved.

Giving Back

Value-adding to Undergraduates' Education
Yonah cares about investing in the next generation and offering enriching experiences to engineering students. The founders of Yonah understand the value of hands-on experience and want to offer students the opportunity to engage in engineering work and see the tangible impact of what they do.

Through Yonah's Student Talent Management Programme, engineering students are equipped with the knowledge and heart to engineer for good.
